As a caller at wedding ceilidhs I need an easily portable sound system that has the output to fill a hotel ballroom with a sound quality that the guests expect.
This system certaintly fits that criteria. At less than 20kg each the speakers are easy to carry (even up a number of flights of stairs). The sound quality is excellent and there is enough volume to be heard over even the rowdiest of crowds.

Its small, its well put together and it works!
What more can one ask?

I bought this PA for my business to deliver audio presentations to medium sized audiences (up to 100 people)
I doubt there is a better product available for this usage.

The sound quality is excellent with smooth treble and (surprisingly) extended bass.
I was a bit disconcerted by the fan in the mixer (which contains the class-D stereo Power Amplifier) at first but in reality, it's not a problem.
I did invest in the (expensive!) transport trolley and the (stupidly expensive) speaker pole mounts so I can put them up on stands -- a MUST for all but the smallest venues.
Why Yamaha didn't incorporate standard 35mm pole mounts in the speaker caseworks is a mystery. It would have been so easy at the design/tooling stage.
One thing I would say is that this system is not 'loud' so don't imagine it will fill a 250 seat auditorium with gut-wrenching bass --- it won't!
112dB is not a HUGE output level but its enough.
I've paired this with a 12" active bass bin driven from the 'monitor' output, and for complex music this makes a big difference to the perceived loudness.

Would I recommend this set up? Absolutely!

Its well made, easy to configure and easy to supplement (with a bass bin)
-- And it's about the only rig I've ever used that you can transport to the venue on your own!

I've owned this system for a few months now and can thoroughly recommend it for use in relatively small venues. The clever, compact design means that storage and transport are not an issue and the sound quality is excellent if you get the speakers up on stands. Talking of which, take my advice and go to somewhere like Maplins for your stands - the ones I got from there came with brackets and all the fittings you need to quickly and simply bolt them on the underneath of the speakers, and for far less cash than the Yamaha ones.

I have owned this mixer for a number of years now. It is an excellent low cost mixer for amateur or small scale professional use. It has 2 microphone inputs with +48V, 4 1/4 inch stereo inputs and a CD/Tape input which is enough for an audio visual presentation in a small hall for example. My previous mixer was a much more expensive Yamaha which was a dinosaur in comparison, difficult to use and with an interface from the first lunar lander. I have only two incredibly small criticisms of the Xenyx. The first is that surprisingly, the four supporting feet were not perfectly aligned on the base plate - the mixer 'wobbled' on its feet. I should have returned it, but needed it for a presentation the day I received it. In fact I stuck some self-adhesive rubber feet on the bottom of the metal casing and this solved the problem. The second is the brightness of the power-on LED. It is an incredibly intense blue. In a darkened room this can actually be quite a distraction. I have stuck a bicycle tyre valve cover over the LED with blue tack which solves the problem. Nevertheless this is the best mixer I have used and seems to be excellent value for money.

This is a brilliant little mixer, and little is the perfect word as it is smaller than an A4 sheet of paper, and is perfect for all your audio needs.
as well as having several super built in effects it has phantom power for powered mic's and loads of other features.
if you buy the UCA202 you can connect to your pc or laptop and control sounds going in or out!! wahooooo!!!!

For the best part of £18 this is a very good purchase. The microphone feels substantial and weighty in the hand thanks to the zinc casing body. The supplied XLR lead and larger adaptor for amps etc. are both gold-plated.

Why not 5 stars? The few niggles are the fact that the repair warranty only applies to the U.S. (although all electrical items sold here have a 1 year warranty by law, I think), and the XLR connector doesn't quite sit flush with the base of the microphone, making you think that you have to keep pushing it in. You don't, it clicks in quite securely and even with the release catch dperessed it takes a definite pull to come out again.

I also noticed that for normal voice recording (conversational levels / podcasting) it needs to be held very close. Whether this is because the mic is internally 'set up' for louder signing or, as I suspect, my laptop's sound card levels aren't up to the job - I don't know.

That said, singing and loud volumes are handled no problem and with very good quality. You really have to shout in order to force some distortion into the signal, carried incidentally by an oxygen-free copper lead made of nice flexible plastic. Not like the stiffer plastic which never looses its bundled folds.

I may actually have to buy myself a good external sound card to match the quality of the microphone!

I found this microphone to be the perfect choice for my singing. quality of recording is nothing like the other ones I had, where they only pick up the high frequencies and leave the bass out, resulting in a trebly sound like if I was overhearing someone with earphones on the bus.

This microphone is of a superior quality to the cheap dynamic microphones range, and it's calibrated for close singing, so it wont pick up anything else than what is being played/sang directly close to the mic. No more background music being caught. Obviously, at very high background noise/volume, it does pick up something, but it's not a significant problem. And this is only if you are recording in a noisy room.

The plus for me is being able to scream in this microphone without distorting the recording. It really is one little wonder. Plus, it feels heavy and robust enough to give you the feeling of a high-quality microphone.

Very very pleased. I bought a second one, and I'll be using them for rehearsal (i'm in a rock band)

the delivery was really quick the speaker sounds amazing i love it so much its the best speaker i have ever had i use it every day one end of the speaker wire is connected to the speaker and the other end of the speaker wire is connected to my amplifier i really love the led lighting effects im going to buy another one of these speakers the only thing you need to buy with it is speaker wire because the speaker wire don't come with the speaker
